In the current economic climate, more people every year are choosing to staycation instead of jet setting across the world in search of sun, sea and sand. With British summertime getting warmer every year, it is often easier and cheaper to stay within the UK. So if you are interested in spending your precious and well-earned annual leave right here in the UK, what are your options?

Merlin Entertainments’ theme parks – THORPE PARK in Surrey, Alton Towers Resort in Stoke-on-Trent, Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey and LEGOLAND in Windsor – are now offering guests the chance to stay in a range of luxury and themed accommodation to suit even the pickiest of traveller. So which location would suit you?

Where will you sleep?

Themed around intrepid explorer Algenon, the Alton Towers Resort Hotel is great for families. Could you stay in the Charlie and Lola themed room, or for the more traditional why not try the Peter Rabbit room? Our favourite is The Chocolate Room, designed like a railway cabin complete with sound effects and, of course, a supply of thoughtfully hidden chocolates. Also have a look at the new premium Moon Voyage Rooms. The Splash Landings Hotel offers rooms themed around the hit film Ice Age and if are looking to travel in 2015, try the newly announced Enchanted Village and stay in a woodland lodge or a luxury treehouse.
