Michael has worked within Events for the past 20 years and has included time at The Ritz, Imagination (a key Design and multi media company), Tussauds group and Merlin Entertainments. In his spare time Michael has a passion for politics, can still be seen dancing across the globe and still thinks Kylie is a goddess! Michael has over the years assisted and guided charities in setting up events and making them work for all stakeholders. Michael’s favourite line at present is “Keep It Simple Stupid”.

Samantha Burton

Since graduating from the University of Gloucestershire in 2009 with a First Class Honours degree in Events Management Sam has worked as an event coordinator for a Live Events Agency specialising in public sector events; including the Police Bravery Awards. This has allowed Sam to work at a number of venues across the country including Lord’s Cricket Ground and the NEC, Birmingham. When the opportunity to join exciting world of Merlin Entertainments came along Sam jumped at the chance to become part of Magic! On her weekends off Sam can be found practicing her baking skills in an attempt to become a blonde Nigella!

I joined the Merlin Events team during my placement year of University and this is when I realised my love for organising events of all kinds! After graduating with a first class honours degree (and jetting off to Australia for two months to celebrate) I returned to the Merlin Events team as an Event Manager. Before the world of Merlin I spent a year working as a coordinator in Corporate Hospitality which took me to sporting events such as Royal Ascot and Six Nations rugby games at Twickenham which was very exciting! I also volunteered at various charity and music events throughout my four years at University. The best thing about working at Merlin is working with clients towards their special event and every day at work is always different! I have organised various events in my role from Awards Dinners for 150 guests to Corporate Parties for 900 guests!

After graduating from The University of Portsmouth with a First Class (Hons) Degree in English Language, I began my career in marketing for a US tech company which gave me the opportunity to travel to the US. For three years on the marketing side in London for EMEA, I was responsible for PR, social media, strategic partner marketing, lead gen and event planning and management. I’m extremely excited to now be working for Merlin Events and unleash my creative side! There’s plenty to learn and contribute to our B2C Event Marketing efforts and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the Merlin family. In my spare time, I hunt the entirety of London for brunch spots (which also doubles as exercise… all those steps!)

Since leaving school, Lauren has worked within the events and hospitality industry, working logistically onsite at major UK festivals such as V festival, Creamfields and Wireless. She invests time in a charity back in Leicester setup by her late friend, helping organise their events.  Recently moving from the North, she is excited to take on this new challenge within the Merlin Events team and progress her career. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys making memories with loved ones, getting used to the southern way of life and trying to stay fit.

After growing up in the North and recently graduating with an Event Management degree from Leeds Beckett University, Rosie made the move to London and joined the Merlin team. During University Rosie worked at many different types of events and venues including corporate hospitality, weddings and live music events. During her placement year at University, Rosie also spent 7 months in Australia where she gained experience in events from working in a multi-functional entertainment venue in Melbourne. Rosie is excited to now be working with some of the most unique venues in the heart of London. In her spare time Rosie can be found spending time with family and friends, keeping fit, and exploring her new home town!

I have been organising events for the past 5 years and I love it.  Starting off as an event trainee for the Gordon Ramsay Group and very quickly becoming a planner and account manager for all the London venues was a great experience and where I found my passion for food and drink.  The last 2 years I was the event manager for a private members club in Mayfair and this was great for expanding my knowledge on all aspects of events.  Now I have joined the Merlin Events team and want to be part of the magic.  In my spare time I love to socialise, find new bars and restaurants and always on the lookout for a new holiday destination!

I was an Operations Manager at the Dali Universe for 8 years before freelancing for Merlin Events for two years. I then spent four and a half years working for Food by Dish as a General Catering Manager at their boutique venue in Mayfair No.4 Hamilton Place. Then, to satisfy my explorative spirit I travelled extensively around the Middle East, South East Asia and Brazil which was a phenomenal experience. Learning about new cultures and cuisine was incredible and I’m happy I took the opportunity to travel. Now as a full time Events Operations Manager for Merlin Events I am enjoying my new challenges around our portfolio of central London venues and am looking forward to bringing my previous experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for excellent service to all events.

Adam Croft

Graduating with a degree in Popular Music and Record Production from Southampton Solent University in 2011, Adam made his way into events firstly becoming an entertainment coordinator for Neilson holidays in Turkey. He then spent some time working for Thomson as an events coordinator in hotels in Crete, Egypt and Cyprus. Joining the Merlin team in October 2015, Adam started in logistics but quickly climbed the ladder into events. He has a passion for the industry, and is excited to be working in such iconic venues. In his spare time Adam is a singer and guitarist, and regularly performs across the UK, playing his unique twist on hip hop and party classics. He also loves to explore the city, and is always on the hunt to find the best pub in London.

After college I spent eight years working abroad in the French Alps, Mediterranean and the Caribbean before settling back in London. I worked at 1 Wimpole Street and Chandos House, where I stayed for 6 years, starting as the office administrator and working up to account manager. It was a great grounding for working in events with the two different venues and a variety of bookings from small meetings to large conferences and dinners. Whilst there, I also got to attend trade shows and saw how vast the events industry is. I started at Merlin Events in September 2017 and have loved learning all about the event spaces in the venues and helping clients to match their requirements to one of our venues for a fabulous event.

Born and raised in Milan, with an undergraduate degree in PR and communications, I decided to leave sunny Italy to specialise in the events Industry, after discovering my passion during an internship at Milano Film Festival. Once moved to England, I gained experience working for an investment company, planning events and marketing strategies for their clients. I then obtained a Masters in Events Management at Bournemouth University and worked for an established caterer as Assistant Events Manager across some of the most iconic British venues, such as the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace. I am now very excited to have joined the Merlin team and work in our unique venues in London! When not in the office, you can find me baking Italian desserts or packing for my next weekend abroad.

I graduated from Leeds Becket University, UK Centre of Events Management with an upper second class honours degree and I started my career with Merlin Entertainments. My previous experience was within the Event Technology industry. My main responsibilities consisted of delegate management, managing the online registration system and onsite event management which took me to places such as Chicago, Shanghai, Amsterdam and Lisbon. I am very privileged and excited to be working with Merlin Events and being involved in all the Merlin magic! In my free time I enjoy travelling, socialising and can usually be found with a cocktail in hand on the weekend!
